"Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing up is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing." Phyllis Diller

This weekend was devoted to tackling the kitchen and our living room. Our quandary however is the fact that we are packing up as much as we can while still maintaining a home that we have to live in for the next month as well. Throw in an 18 month old son, and it makes the challenges even greater. Aiden is at that age where he wants to be involved in everything and see what we are doing, and insists on helping. Imagine the cutest little man helping unload the dishwasher and handing you the silverware piece by piece. As cute as it is, he wants to help unload even when we are loading the dishwasher. So the process takes twice as long and sometimes a round of screaming ensues as he sees we are putting his unloaded loot back into the dishwasher. He was a great help when it came to packing up the contents of the cabinets. He would crawl in and hand us pieces 1 by 1 so we could pack them away in a box.

Here daddy, let me climb in

Most of the work was done when we would finally get the little guy down for a nap. When he was down, our house would get to work and tackle as much as we could, as fast as we could before he woke up. Emily, Melissa and I would tackle each cabinet and make a decision. We had 4 options when it came to each item. We would decide if we were going to A) pack it away for the new house, B) put it in a pile to try and sell it, C) throw it away, or D) leave it in the cabinet as we would need it in the upcoming weeks.

The first picture just shows the chaos that happens when you have 3 people attacking a kitchen all at once while a toddler is sleeping. The other one shows all the items we have placed on the side to be sold at a garage sale hopefully in early March. Some of these have never been used, and going into a new kitchen with less cabinet space, some decisions had to be made.
